History
Shri Balbhadra Prasad Shukla was a leading social reformer, activist and a lawyer of Lakhimpur Kheri. After completing his B.A. LL.B. from the Allahabad University in the year 1902, he started his practice of the law dealing with the civil side. He became the legal advisor to the erstwhile princely states of Oel and Mahewa. However he did not contain himself to the Bar. Despite being offered to take up cases in the Privy Council, he refused to go to England to continue his active participation in the freedom movement of India. He was an active member of the Quit India Movement in 1942 during which he even underwent incarceration.
After the dawn of independence, he vowed to continue his social crusade against illiteracy, ignorance of thought while holding a belief that education alone can cure such evils. He then went on to devote the rest of his life to the emancipation and education of women and children.Carrying forward the same rich heritage, the Balbhadra Prasad Shiksha Samiti was formed in the year 2000. Thus B.P.S. Public School (Affiliation No. 2131845) was born to carry forward the insight, vision and the high ideals of that great personality. The school promises to promote the course of education without discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, colour or sex. Affiliated to the CBSE to provide education upto the 12th Grade, the school continues its pursuit of excellence for all.
